MALAYSIA AUTOSHOW RETURNS IN 2019 – PROMISING ENHANCED MOBILITY EXPERIENCE FOR ALL

Showcase for MARii BDA & Smart IoT also previewed in MARii Headquarters today

CYBERJAYA, 28 FEBRUARY – The Malaysia Autoshow 2019 will return this 11th to 14th April 2019, and will be hosted at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) for the third year running.

The 2019 edition, themed “Mobility for All”, continues its tradition of showcasing the latest vehicles on the market, especially highlighting the advances in technology, safety and comfort of vehicles sold within the Malaysian market as well focussing on the latest industry trends as the world moves towards connected mobility.

The Soft Launch of the Malaysia Autoshow 2019 was officiated by Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Darell Leiking at MARii’s Headquarters in Cyberjaya, in conjunction with the MITI & Agencies Monthly Assembly.

Hall A will showcase the latest vehicles on offer in Malaysia including the newest Energy Efficient Models. Around 100 cars and variants from the various OEMs are expected to be on display.

Meanwhile, Hall C will feature the International Automodified (IAM), a touring automotive lifestyle showcases for all-time automobile models, modified and also customised cars. The IAM brings a new angle to the Autoshow, bringing together a community of car enthusiasts that have the passion personalising their vehicles both in drivelines and/or body and panel.

This year, Hall D – renamed the “MARii Mobility Hall” during the Autoshow – will bring visitors through an immersive journey throughout the entire automotive value chain – from automotive styling, design, engineering and manufacturing, and provide a vision of Malaysia’s mobility ecosystem in the future. The Hall will also host numerous experiential activities for the entire family, including robotics workshops, AR and VR experiences and skills competitions.

“The Malaysia Autoshow remains as an important component of the annual automotive calendar, as it allows for maximum participation of Malaysians in the automotive sector through experiential exhibitions and activities at the show”, said Dato’ Madani Sahari, MARii Chief Executive Officer, speaking to the media at the Malaysia Autoshow 2019 Press Conference.

Visitors to the Malaysia Autoshow can also expect the following activities:

  • Launch of new models by various OEMS at the Autoshow
  • Visitors stand a chance to win a Perodua Bezza, Perodua Myvi, Kia Picanto and many others exciting prizes.
  • 4×4 Taxi Ride
  • Go Kart Experience
  • Test Drive various models at the 3km length Malaysia Autoshow test route
  • Various Fun-filled activities at the MARii Mobility Hall

More activities will be announced closer to the Autoshow in April.

Big Data Analytics & IoT Showcase, MARii App previewed at MITI & Agencies Assembly

New technologies developed by MARii for the automotive and relevant sectors were previewed during MITI & Agencies Monthly Assembly, held in Cyberjaya today.

Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Darell Leiking launched the MARii Big Data Analytics (BDA) and IoT Showcase, a new feature of the MARii Cyberjaya HQ that showcases the various technological possibilities that arise through advances in big data analytics (BDA) and the internet of things (IoT).

The applications of BDA and IoT are far reaching within the manufacturing sector, connecting the entire automotive value chain – from manufacturing to aftersales – in a data driven ecosystem that allows for faster and more accurate decision processes, derived from a myriad of available data transmitted throughout the supply chain.

These technologies have been developed through MARii to enhance the development of the Malaysian industry, overcoming technology investment anxiety and spurring the initiation of learning curves for both business owners and the talents that reside within such businesses.

The Minister also launched the MARii App, the agency’s latest digital outreach tool that features latest news, events, and information in a single application that is linked to various MARii’s communication channels – including its website, social media channels, video page, audio podcasts, and many more.

The MARii App places all the information, news and trends into the pockets of our stakeholders, in a single application that is accessible by the touch of a button.

The BDA & IoT Showcase was preceded by the introduction of MiMi, MARii’s social humanoid assistant, optimised for human interaction and capable of recognizing faces and basic human emotions. MiMi, which stands for MARii Interactive Machine Intelligence, will serve as a MARii’s own platform for advanced backend development in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
