The Malaysia Autoshow 2019 was held from 11th to 14th April 2019, at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS).

The 2019 edition, themed “Mobility for All”, continued its tradition of showcasing the latest vehicles on the market, highlighting the advances in technology, safety and comfort of vehicles sold within the Malaysian market.

While Hall A showcased more than 100 models and variants of latest vehicles on offer in Malaysia including the newest Energy Efficient Models, Hall C featured the International Automodified (IAM), an international touring automotive lifestyle showcase.

Hall D – renamed the “MARii Mobility Hall” during the Autoshow – brought visitors through an immersive journey throughout the entire automotive value chain – from automotive styling, design, engineering and manufacturing, and provided a vision of Malaysia’s mobility ecosystem in the future.

The MARii Mobility Hall also hosted the MARii Activity Arena, with numerous experiential activities for the entire family, including a robot combat tournament, robotics and coding classes, STEM play grounds, skills demonstrations and e-sports competitions.

Around 420,000 visitors attended this year’s edition of the Malaysia Autoshow, which was launched by Prime Minister, YAB Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.

The soft launch of the MARii Pemandu Cekap awareness campaign also took place today, officiated by MARii CEO Dato’ Madani Sahari, in the presence of management of Perodua, Vespa, Ninebot and the Malaysia Autoshow Visitors Contest Winners.

Pemandu Cekap is an awareness campaign for motorists and road users, focusing on the importance of driving habits and vehicle ownership practices that promote energy efficiency, safety, environmental preservation in our daily mobility.

The concept of the campaign redefines the meaning of a Skilled Driver (Pemandu Cekap) – which traditionally refers to skilled driving – to a driver that is knowledgeable and skilled in the command of driving and energy efficiency aspects mentioned above.

MARii CEO, Dato Madani Sahari explained that as the automotive industry advances to bring new technology to the market, it is important that motorists are aware of new options available to them, and are able to utilize them in their daily driving.

“The concept of the Pemandu Cekap campaign was developed to instill awareness of energy efficient and safety driving habits among Malaysians, through the utilization of new vehicle technology as well as a standardized mindset and approach to proper driving.”, he said.

“While most Malaysians are not directly part of the automotive sector, the basic need for transportation means they are part of the market that drives the automotive sector. They contribute to the industry through their understanding of proper driving and the appropriate use of features that promote safe and energy efficient transportation”, he added.

The Pemandu Cekap soft launch will begin with a series of content developed specially for the upcoming Hari Raya season, as millions of Malaysians travel to their hometowns during the festive season.
