A press conference was held earlier today at the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) headquarters in Cyberjaya to announce “DRIVE4PAUL Malaysia 2019”, a charity event under the Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW) charity organisation that was founded by Paul Walker.
The event will be held on the 12th of October 2019 at Bandar Malaysia (Pengkalan TUDM Sg. Besi).
Since the event is non-profit, all sales made from this event will be channeled to ROWW, in order to support its cause in helping the victims of natural disasters worldwide.
ROWW was established after the Haiti earthquakes which occurred in January 2010, where Paul Walker spontaneously organized a disaster relief mission. This, then became his inspiration of establishing the organisation.
Until today, ROWW continues to respond internationally to natural disasters worldwide ranging from earthquakes to hurricanes.

In line with helping the community, MARii, an agency under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), has joined ROWW’s initiatives by becoming the strategic CSR partner of the charity organisation.
MARii has always been committed to serving and helping the needy, as social upward mobility is only possible when basic necessities are provided to all. MARii’s participation in ROWW presents an opportunity for the agency continue serving the society both locally and internationally.
“MARii’s participation in Drive 4 Paul serves as a platform for motoring enthusiasts to gain information and insights regarding the initiatives conducted by the government to enhance the competitiveness of the local automotive scene”, said Dato’ Madani Sahari, CEO MARii.
MARii has been involved in various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes locally since its establishment in 2010, with the objective of ensuring the nation prospers together.
During the charity event, MARii will be highlighting various initiatives and programmes that are being held to enhance the competitiveness of the local automotive scene to a global scale.
Dato’ Madani also said that there are various programmes and platforms organised to improve the capabilities of our automotive industry and all these are available to the public for their and as a whole, the country’s benefit.
Various human capital development programmes organised by MARii such as Industry Led Professional Certificate (IPC), Skim Latihan Dual Nasional (SLDN) and IPC-PPT (IPC-Pengtirifan Pencapaian Terdahulu) will be showcased as a platform for visitors to gain insights regarding the tremendous amount of job opportunities and business enhancement tools that are available to the public.
The Aftermarket Division of MARii will be will featuring programmes catered towards the aftermarket community of the public. Here, various automotive styling and aftermarket technologies, specifically catered for modified cars enthusiasts, will be showcased to visitors. Notable local automotive companies such as Pomen Autodata Sdn. Bhd (the developer of POMEN App) and TuneBoss (produces ECU parts and components for motorbikes) where visitors can gain knowledge and information from successful individuals of the aftermarket community.
PROTON will also be joining MARii to showcase the safety aspect of vehicle medication, specifically providing details, facts and do’s and don’ts surrounding vehicle modification and customisation.
Other than that, Retro Havoc will also be joining the event in showcasing various custom-modified, retro vehicles, through its 6-year experience of organising similar autoshows. The retro cars showcased will be a cooperation of various classic car clubs both local and international. It gave a tremendous impact and detailed knowledge in the automotive industry specifically in the showcase of retro cars, that are lesser seen on our roads as time progresses.
The event is also sponsored by Tourism Malaysia (TM) and the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) in efforts to boost the tourism sector of Malaysia.Also present during the press conference were Cody Walker, CEO of ROWW, YBhg.
