PROTON launched four Special Edition, limited production models which have been given the moniker Black Edition (Persona and Exora) and R3 LimitedEdition (Iriz and Saga). All four models were unveiled simultaneously during a virtual launch and were designed to broaden the appeal of PROTON’s offerings while providing more choice to customers.

“By launching four Special Edition models today, PROTON is giving its customers more choices. These are products manufactured in Malaysia targeted to Malaysian car buyers and are reminders that PROTON is and always will be a ‘full-service’ car manufacturer with the ability to design, develop and build our own cars from a clean sheet of paper.”, said En. Roslan Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer, PROTON Edar.

The Iriz and Saga R3 models were launched to celebrate the company’s motorsports division with each model adorning the exclusive R3 livery on top of a black paint and sporting the R3 badge. The sporty look is also complemented with a specially designed R3 bodykit, a black-yellow interior, leatherette seats, and R3 carpets. The Saga comes equipped with 15-inch alloy wheels while the Iriz is fitted with the 16-inch versions.

The Black Edition series features the Persona and Exora, which were designed with comfort, practicality, and luxury in mind. These models are coated with a unique black paint with gold accents. Inside, both come with black leatherette seats, door trims, and floor console with the Persona receiving the black treatment for the headlining, while the Exora is fitted with an overhead monitor.

Prior to the launch of these models, PROTON also unveiled the Saga Anniversary Edition last year, which sold out its allocation of 1,100 units in five days, prompting the company to follow through the trend of providing unique offerings to its customers.
