MARii offers manufacturers two distinct programmes in support of promoting greater innovation and enhancing Malaysia’s designing capabilities.
The first is a CATIA Specialist Certification Programme, run in collaboration with Dassault Systemes, which trains and assists to upgrade designers to becoming certified mechanical surface design specialists. Candidates undergo intensive exam-oriented training and must pass the CATIA V5 Associate Part Design and the CATIA V5 Associate Surface Design examinations in order to earn their certification. This programme is available to all companies within the manufacturing and related services sector. As at August 2020, the programme has successfully produced 119 certified mechanical surface design specialists.
In support of accelerating the industry’s command in computer aided design, MARii also offers manufacturers a dedicated programme for the leasing of CATIA V5 software. This programme not only offers greater flexibility by way of a minimum leasing period of one month, but also entry at a lower rental price compared to industry rates. In addition, it also extends manufacturers with valuable on-site support and training, a service that is not available from any other service providers.
These initiatives are part of the Institute’s Digital engineering and prototyping (DEP) to help Malaysian manufacturers accelerate their learning curve and to embrace new and game changing technologies. The critical parameters addressed to advance Malaysia’s manufacturing capabilities include additive manufacturing; product optimization; augmented reality; and virtual reality; to simulation; computer aided engineering (CAE); and advanced designing solutions.
