In line with the global transition towards sustainable mobility, Malaysia is strengthening its position not only as an adopter, but as a developer of electric vehicle (EV) technologies.

The National Electric Vehicle Design Centre (NEVDC) , a strategic collaboration between MARii and PERODUA , serves as a platform for Electric Vehicle Design & Engineering Solutions , supporting the nation’s aspiration to build end-to-end EV capabilities.

NEVDC focuses on developing local EV design and engineering competencies , while advancing talent development through structured training programmes . The Centre also contributes to policy and standards development , including initiatives such as the battery passport, in alignment with international best practices.

In addition, NEVDC fosters collaboration between industry and academia through initiatives such as the NxGV EV Challenge, strengthening innovation and the national talent pipeline.

As an integrated platform, NEVDC plays a pivotal role in advancing Malaysia’s EV ecosystem across technology, talent, and policy, positioning MARii as a key enabler in driving the nation’s electric mobility agenda.
