Digital Engineering & Protoyping (DEP) - Computer-Aided Design (CAD)

CAD (computer-aided design) is the use of computer-based software to aid in design processes. CAD software is frequently used by different types of engineers and designers. CAD software can be used to create two dimensional (2D) drawings or three-dimensional (3D) models.

The purpose of CAD is to enhance the designer’s workflow, boost productivity, enhance design quality and detail, facilitate communication through documentation, and support manufacturing design databases. CAD software generates electronic files for use in manufacturing processes.

Outcome

To certify the level of experience of existing design engineers at either “Associate” or “Specialist“ in the area of Mechanical Design and/or Mechanical Surface Design.
